Social Security Number (SSN) Search

Provides information from a credit bureau on an applicant’s current and past addresses based on applicant’s SSN. Provides comprehensive report on address history, full name and alternate names associated with SSN, SSN validation state and date of issuance, and dates a listed address.

3. Considerations – Used by JDP for jurisdictional development in determining which counties, states and federal districts to search based on address history.

JDP National Criminal Search

JDP’s proprietary national criminal database contains over 685M+ files and continues to proactively retrieve updates from sources across the US. JDP recommends this database search be used in conjunction with county level searches to receive the most accurate and up-to-date criminal data.

3. Availability – Provided Name, Developed Name
4. Considerations – This is a comprehensive picture of criminal information outside of the candidate residency, work and school history. All hits need to be confirmed through a county search.

County Criminal Records

Searches felony and misdemeanor criminal records at a specific county.  JDP utilizes a combination of electronic access to courts and a proprietary, tightly controlled network of in-person court researchers to retrieve county criminal records.

1. Turnaround Time – 24-48 hours (depends on county)
2. Availability – Provided Name, Developed Name, Current County, 7-Year Residence History
3. Considerations – JDP will search 7 years of records (from search date) at the court house. Additional information beyond 7 years may be provided if readily accessible and there are no legislative restrictions.

State Criminal Records

Searches central repository for selected states where available. Information usually consists of upper level infractions.

1. Turnaround Time – 24-48 hours (depends on state)
2. Availability – Provided Name, Developed Name, Current County, 7-Year Residence History
3. Considerations – Not available in all states. State repositories receive their information from local law enforcement agencies and the courts within the state, but these entities may or may not send criminal records to the state.  Some county records as well as lower level infractions may not be included.

Federal Criminal Records

Searches criminal records at the federal level held at one of 94 U.S. District Courts. Federal crimes are those that have been made criminal by federal law, such as tax evasion, interstate transportation of illegal substances, interstate kidnapping, crime involving federally insured institutions such as banks and crimes committed on federal property.

2. Availability – Provided Name, Developed Name, Current County, 7-Year Residence History
3. Considerations – Low hit rate. Adds additional level of search on top of state and county search, but must search specific federal district to obtain records.

Provided Name

Search based on the consumer’s name provided to JDP.

Developed Name

Search based on consumer’s name provided to JDP along with names developed through SSN Validation, which provides full name and alternate names associated with their SSN.

Current County/State/District

Searches only current county/state/district of applicant’s residence.

7-Year Residence History County/State/District

SSN ID Search used to develop jurisdictions to search based on address history.  Counties/States/Districts in which the applicant has resided over the past 7-years will be searched.
